In collaboration with J. Wakefield Brewing, Affogato Imperial Stout is inspired by a few of our brewers' favorite summertime pick-me-up (& cool-me-down) Barrington's affogato. Our Affogato Imperial Stout is delectable, decadent, and smooth. Brewed with a blend of Barrington & Mostra beans, Affogato leads with aromas reminiscent of Vietnamese Iced Coffee (cà phê đá) - powerful course ground dark roast coffee poured over sweetened condensed milk & ice. Flavors of dark espresso, tiramisu, sweet chocolate cake, and smooth vanilla swirl across the pallet. Rich flavor & a dark, inviting appearance, Affogato Imperial Stout is our answer to a sweet summertime treat.

From bottle thanks to Michael and Thomas. Black color with beige brown head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, caramel fudge, vanilla ice cream. Heavy sweet and light bitter taste like aroma. Medium to full, oily silky body with soft carbonation.

750ml (hallelujah for that) bottle, by way of a trade. Cheers Joe. Clear, deep chestnut brown. Ring of dense, tan head. Nicely leggy. Light lacing. Nose has robust maple syrup. Chocolate caramel truffle. Chocolate vanilla milkshake. Some dried vine fruits. Some high cocoa content, fruity, chocolate. Just a hint of coffee bean. Taste is sweet and sticky. Very light, vinous bitterness. Smooth and silky, sticky mouthfeel. Feels nowhere near the 13.3%. Not by miles. Silky sweet, milky chocolate to finish. Really good, but overall it’s busting to get put in a port barrel. Needs twanging up a bit. Still smashed it unhealthily quick, though.

Bottle into a snifter showing translucent caramel brown throughout with no head. The nose shows pronounced notes of coffee bean and vanilla bean. The palate is oily yet light bodied and moderately carbonated. Extremely vanilla bean forward with a light coffee tartness with balanced notes of caramel. Moderate alcoholic spiciness throughout. Sweetness balanced out by moderately strong coffee finish.
