500ml can. (4.2% ABV) Pours a clear amber with a small, creamy, short lived, ecru head that laces. Mild aroma of biscuit malt, grass and floral hops. Sweet flavour of biscuit malt, caramel, citrus and grass with a dry, bitter, hoppy, metallic finish. Light body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Easy drinking.

500mL can, pours a clear dark copper with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with butterscotch, some light diacetyl and bready malt. Flavour is quite shitty, with loads of butter, bready malt and butterscotch. Classic diacetyl bomb from the Brits. Bad.

I have drunk so many of these in my time, but this is the first rate. A classic English bitter that tasted sweeter than I remember, but that may be due to the beers that I had before drinking this. Malt, bittering hops and a good mouthfeel resulted in a perfectly pleasant pint, but nothing special. That sweetness was odd, but I haven't had this for quite a long time.

0.5 l bottle from 'The English Shop' (Dortmund), bottled in November 2017. Clear, deep amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, floral, slightly herbal-grassy and a little fruity aroma of caramel, tea leaves and orange blossom. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, moderately herbal-grassy, a bit floral and a little fruity taste of caramel, tea leaves, orange blossom and some marmelade, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly herbal-grassy and a bit metallic finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid.
