We call Dynamo a "Copper Lager" for fun, but what you have here is a Vienna lager. German and Austrian immigrants to Mexico in the mid-1800s were the foundation of the Mexican lager industry, dominated by Vienna lagers. Think Negra Modelo or Dos Equis Amber. Sadly, those beers are cut with adjuncts, travel too far, and sit on warehouse shelves for too long.

Dynamo is brewed in the Austrian tradition, using only malted barley, and featuring a notably spicy hop flavor. As always, we're focused on finesse and balance, as a smooth cereal sweetness gives way to a toasty finish

12 oz bottle from msante79. Nose of grassy hops, and light caramel. Lightly hazy gold with a medium off white head. Flavor is peppery with light bitterness and a hint of caramelly sweetness.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a white head that fades over a clear golden body. Aroma of rain, honey and sweet bread. Taste is grainy, with honey. Fizzy and dry. Forgettable.

Bottle that starts out looking dingy gold and ends with a color that a generous observer might call copper (on some sort of limited color wheel). Head is a small film of tiny bubbles and aromas are grassy with some caramel and biscuit maltiness. Flavor is dominated by watered down biscuit with a bit of honey and a little bit of a grassy presence in the finish. It’s good enough, but kind of boring.

This is a local beer I tried on tap at a local bar. I remember this being much better in the bottle, rather light traditional German-esque lager, very refreshing and easy to drink. I support my local brewer!

Tap at Hop Leaf. Poured a rusty copper with a small off white head. Aroma was acid with some malts present. The aroma reminded me of blood, not pleasant. Flavor was pretty basic, some malts, a slight caramel flavor. Mediocre at best.

12 oz. bottle. Nice first effort by a new Chicago brewer. Bright Vienna malt smell in the pour, matching beer color, thin layer of bubbles. Dials back the hops to let some crunchy, toasty malts to the foreground. Fills me up pretty well. A bit of German hop pepper builds up on my soft palate. Worth presenting and serving as a good new Chicago beer, while all the sports and tourist venues keep spewing Miller-Bud.
