Draught at Khyber: pours near black with beige head. Aroma is toasty with some dark chocolate, light hoppiness. Smooth, not too sweet. An excellent example of style.

Can at home. It pours clear dark brown with a handsome khaki head. The aroma is soft, doughy dark bread, bitter - sweet, malt loaf, fruit cake, cereal, nuttiness, toasted brown bread, light vanilla, oak, touch of plum and some date scone. The taste is super smooth upfront, roasty malts, toasted brown bread, malt loaf, fruit cake, praline, light nuttiness, cereal, cacao nibs, coffee grounds, touch of wood and light vanilla with a toasty finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Super balance to this. Effortlessly drinkable.

Team tasting at CBJ, thanks to Wingman for the can. Near clear dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a little creamy sweetness. Oaty dark chocolate. Modest pine and mild citrus. Airy finish. Tidy and tasty but could do with a little more hop bite.

Can shared at the craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. Many thanks to Wingman for this one. A dark brown black coloured pour with a loose tan head. Aroma is nice fresh nutty brown bread, pine, grass. Nutty malts. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty brown bread, raisin, fresh brown cereal, pine. Woody. Light vanilla, drinks very well.

Pours a deep, dark brown, with mid-sized tan head. Aroma is burnt toast, wood, roasted grain, a touch of leather. Flavors all follow. Very smooth, crisp mouthfeel.

Sample at Churchkey is a cola brown, creamy brown head. Nutty, roasty, malty nose. Something pumpernickel like. Flavor has chewy malt, carob, light dried fruit and toast. No bitterness. Creamy, medium bodied finish.
