On tap at John’s Marketplace - SE Powell, pours a clear bright orange with a small white head. Nose is intense, full of balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and oak. Flavour is quite sour and vinegary, with plenty of oak, intense acidity, intense vinegar, and a bit of stone fruits. Way too acetic. This doesn’t work for me.

(Bottle) Brownish red colour with frothy, tan head. Fruity, sourish nose with notes of oak wood, sour cherries, balsamic vinegar, dried fruit, caramel, toffee and orange peel. Fruity, tart taste with notes of balsamic vinegar, wood, cherries, raspberries, barnyard, stable, dried fruit, citrus peel, a touch of hazelnuts and a dry and tart finish with no bitterness. Medium body, dry. Rich tart character with vinegar, oak wood and sour fruit. Very nice.

Bottle from The Wine Source, Baltimore. Pours clear copper red with very small frothy off-white head, acidic caramel aroma, low carbonation, sour caramel malt taste with woodsy flavor, thin body, long sour caramel finish. Quite well balanced sourness.

2018 vintage bottle shared at CB. Thanks Aaron! Pours a rusted orange to light ruby with a quickly dissipating finger of foam. Acidic vinegar, muscat, berry and oak aromas on the nose. Light and almost watery on the palate but some medium to low carbonation. Vanilla oak, tart redcurrant and muscat notes. Lingering acidity and fruit notes on the finish. Feels lighter on the palate tan the regular version. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cuvée des Jacobins Prestige on 02 Feb 2019 at 01:01 - Score: 8. Original review text: 2018 vintage.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a caramel color with a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was very tart, dry and perfumey chalk and an herbal note. The flavor was insanely sour, dry and chalky with a Sweettart candy presence. Amazingly long finish. Medium body.

Gott

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours clear bright copper with a creamy/foamy near white head. Aroma is spot on for sour red/brown. Med body or so. Flavor is moderately sour in a woody way. Lots of fruit, but the sour dominates. In a way it is lush. OMFG! How did I never find this before?
