Bottle from a gift box. Pours clear amber/red with a lasting, thin, off-white head. Aroma of raisin, toffee, brioche, red grape, cranberry, unripe strawberry, candied apricot. Taste has (heavy) sweet raisin, dark toffee, estery apricot & red apple on a cake-like malty body, bitter herbs & yeast in the back with a sour touch. Malty finish, some herbal hops, lingering red fruit maltiness. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Better than I expected based on the previous ratings here - maybe they altered their recipe a bit? Style-wise I'd opt for Amber or Red Ale perhaps?

Light brown colour with a fluffy head. Aroma and flavour have some sweet malts with light toasting and a little caramel. Nice flavour but too gassy.

New Wilde Brouwers beer from Ghent and named after the current Ghent mayor, Daniel Termont... Brewed with recycled sewer water and Belgian hops. Thick and coarse, large-bubbled, irregular, egg-white head, lightly hazy coppery bronze robe. Aroma suffers heavily from actual sewer water odours (H2S!), rotting egg even, but not so strong that it completely obliterates more flattering hints of old brown bread, ginger powder, raisins, peanuts, fermenting autumn leaves, sugared tea, apple peel and overripe apricots. Sweet onset, banana ester, lots of residual sugars, bit sticky at first even; slick, bit resiny mouthfeel, butterscotch- and peanut-like smooth maltiness but suffering from very sharp overcarbonation. Ends with phenolic spiciness, ongoing residual sweetness, retronasal sewer water, some warming alcohol and a dash of floral hop bitterness. Too sweet for my tooth, overcarbonated and, the biggest issue here, unpleasantly suffering from a rotting, sulfuric odour - even more so than in their first beer... Too bad, really wanted to like this one seen my love for the city of Ghent!
