Opaque but dullish. Doesn’t hit the style’s high notes, just yeasty.

On tap at Schilling, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is full of banana, light clove, and soft wheatiness—typical hef. Flavour is estery, with lots of clove and banana, very subtle tartness, and a soft wheaty base. On-style, just not my thing. Decent.

On tap at the brewery tasting room. Hazy yellow coloured, small to medium sized white head, fruity and mild estery nose. Fruity, mild banana, bit spicy and mild sweetish finish.

Can to weizen glass.
Appearance is as seen in the picture.
Aroma: sweet wheat with banana sweetness and surfacing clove spiciness
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet quality and underscored nicely by the clove spicy tones; finishes well blended between the banana sweetness and clove spiciness
Texture: full bodied and sessionable; very smooth along the tongue with substantial creaminess; good carb level and non-distracting
Overall: absolutely one of the better authentic true German styled hefeweizens by an American brewer. Yes, I would definitely return to this and perhaps wouldn't mind a side by side with Weihenstephaner's.

Good stuff overall. Fairly clean. Eatery snout. Moderate sweetness, nips of citrus, flaked wheat, lemon peel, banana chips. Nice depth. Could be creamier but overall it’s well enjoyable.

Cloudy pale yellow with moderate head. Banana, apple, clove, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Moderately sweet banana, clove, wheat malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Good body. Strong clove aftertaste.

Stewed pear nose, maybe banana hints. Clear pale yellow, thin head. Dry dishwater, fusel alcohol. Light body, moderate carbonation. Missed the mark.
