Very distinctive barrel-Aged taste. Could almost contain a shot of spirit

Tart, bretty, strong, all kinds of barrel coming through, burly, delicious, and again that brett blows through right at the finish.

Bottle at WTF 4. Pours a cloudy orange with thick white head that lasts. The aroma is funk, yeast, grape, oak. Medium body, yeast, pure sugar, funk, dry finish, good.

2018 - 9% version. Very similar profile to the 7.8% version, but slightly fuller in flavor and warmer in the lasting finish. Improvements were definitely made with this version... now tastes closer to an Oerbier. 11/20/16 - 7.8% Pour deep clear gold into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Grape and oak aromas. Soft with sweet dry oak and chardonnay upfront turning to earth, tart brett and marshmallows in the lasting finish. Very close to a white wine flavor with a bit of funk and bitterness in the finish. Based on the reviews, it looks like this one benefited from some time in a bottle. 7/4/8/4/16

Draught at 3rd Annual Sour Fest, 3/26/16.
Dark copper-to-ripe peach-colored body shows minimal haze and a small, white head that fades quickly to a ring.
In the nose there’s a fair bit of oak and strong fruitiness (black cherry, peach, nectarine). Definitely can pick out the light butteriness from the chardonnay, while the brett shows off plentiful limeskin and other tart notes that work well balancing the sweet/sour buttery oak/acetic character. No alcohol or flaw.
Very strong fruity notes emerge initially, cherries, peaches, strawberries and there’s a good helping of tart brett that in turn succumbs to a moderately sweet amber-like maltiness with caramel wrapping itself about the buttery oak. A lot going on here, but it seems maybe a bit too jumbled and the heavy fruitiness, buttery oak and malt sweetness all seem to pull the beer in different directions. Texture is lightly slick/buttery/oaky with soft, but mostly tight carbonation. Certainly making it sound worse than it actually is and it’s still an interesting little beer, just outdone by a number of the other delicious beers on for this fest.

Reddish orange. No head aroma is faint but I get a little plastic. Grapes, nuts, lemon? Fig and peaches. Fleeting finish with some caramel.

Draft at the brew pub. 5 oz taster. Nose is funky oak and Brettanomyces, good amount of funk. Taste is mostly the same with a bit of musty hay. Mouthfeel has a mild Puckering affect. Medium in body with a slightly drying texture. Decent. Well worth a try if you enjoy Brett.

Boulder Strong Ale Fest. Hazy, golden appearance with an off white head. Tangy, coconut, pineapple, mango, lightly vinous aroma. A touch tart, pineapple, coconut, lemon citrusy flavor. Nothing too complex but it is refreshing and fun to drink.
