Our Maple Red Ale hints at the sweetness of Vermont maple syrup. We harvest it ourselves right here at the brewery. Lightly hopped and featuring Vienna malt, our ale has a smooth, clean finish with just enough to savor its unique maple flavor. We want our beer to reflect the culture of our people, and what says Vermont better than beer and maple syrup.

Can from Roots The Restaurant: pours dark amber with beige head. Aroma is caramel, toast, not very much maple. Taste is toasty, sweet, lightly bitter. Robust. Not bad.

Tap, at the brewery. Deep red. Nicely balanced amber ale. Fruity malt and touch of maple work well with lightly spiced hops. Not normally my bag, but I enjoyed this one.

Arbads Grill, 4 oz sample. Deep red / brown color, thin white head. Aroma is sublte maple, weak earthy malt, yeast. Flavor is a complete copy of the aroma. Body is lean, finish is abrupt.

This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a burnt red color with a sly transparent murkiness. Slim finger’s worth of white foamy head quickly dissipated adequately. Spider web filmy lace.
The aroma starts with some normal malty nuttiness. And then some sweet maple to slight toffee tones.
The flavor leans sweet through the maple sweetness. Rolls right on through into the aftertaste bringing the nuttiness. Finishes sweet and wet and smooth.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable smooth feel to it. Carbonation rides light.
Overall, this was an interesting Irish red ale. I guess Bent Hill pulled it off and without infection. Fair enough.

On tap at the Tunbridge Fair’s craft beer tent pours a murky amber with some creamy, slightly off white head. Nose has a blend of both maple and fruit sweetness, toffee and nougat too, lightly nutty. Flavor follows right behind, some brown sugar and malt, a little roasted apple, light maple, chewy grains, some nuts. Dry finish. Call me crazy, but I was really digging this.

Bomber from Winooski Beverage. Pours a dark reddish brown with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of maple, nuts, toffee. The taste is nuts, maple, dark fruits. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering tartness.

dark red to brown color, looks like mineral water. 1 finger slight brown head. Nose is lightly malted with a tough of sweetness. The maple for sure comes through. malt and bitterness. pretty flat as far as overall but it has enough maple to balance things out.
