Redhook Blonde combines the best attributes of a flavorful golden ale with the refreshing qualities of a lager. The ale is brewed with three different malts and two hop varietals. Lightly roasted barley and a touch of wheat, combined with an ample portion of hops, creates a truly crowd pleasing beer .

Redhook Blonde pairs well with medium flavored foods such as fish, nachos or salad.

2005 bottle. Light yellow body, mostly clear, maybe a chill haze, maybe not. Small white head, some retention. Aroma of grass, hay, wheat and a touch of grains. Flavor is a tad bitter, crisp on the finish and has a mellow hint of vanilla and honey, with some metaliic earthy/toasty grains. I make it sound more flavorful than it is, however, as it is mostly a dry, watery concoction of wheat, grassy hops and light almonds.

Redhook sure does suck.

Blonde with a white head. Grassy malt aroma. Crisp sweet malt with a touch of honey. Medium bodied, a bit cloying on the sweet side. Bottle. CNY Brewfest Feb. 5 2005.

Sampled draught at Tony Roma’s Burbank.
Clear deep golden, small head. Light flowery, honeyish aroma. Sweet and clean with hard mouthfeel. Low-medium bitterness. Fizzy and quite boring.

Yellow, with an off white head. Sweet grassiness in the aroma, with little else. Bitter and slightly tinny, but does finish nicely.

Bottle Pours a very light orangeish yellow with virtully no head abd very little lacing. A bit fruity and sweet smelling. Malty and slightly sweet, little hops and a simple clean finish. Nothing special.

This one looks like it wouldn't scare off a BMC drinker and the aroma and taste probably wouldn't either. It's probably a good Blonde Ale and I just prefer something more robust. Decent but very unexciting.

Barely gold in colour with a completely white head. Smells like water also. Tastes like metal with a hint of a hop flavour. No malt detected and barely a taste at all. Not a good beer.

Draught version. Golden colored with a medium head that lasted fairly long, also lively carbonation. Sweet yeasty/citrusy aroma that bordered on a German Wheat. Light and refreshing if a little on the sweet side. I did enjoy this one somewhat, but mostly because I got it on tap. I'm not sure how well this would translate to a bottle.

I suppose this is intended to be real close to a Kolsch - but not quite. Gold color and large tight head. Lightly fruity aroma. Buttery mouthfeel - light in flavor and not as malty as a Kolsch. Crisp dry finish. Not bad.
