Bottled on 7/19/2005 consumed on 9/6/2005. Nice looking beer. Brilliant amber-caramel with deep strawberry blonde highlights. Tons of cream colored head. Lots of medium-sized bubbles. Pretty clear. Head is well-retained and laces well. Smells like citrus. Bit of sugary bread dough. Orange-herbal tea as well. Flavor begins with pale grains, bit of light caramel. Dry flavor and rather wet on the palate, texture wise. Nice to see no overcarbonation. Not much aroma strength though. Hoppy and lightly bitter but I’m actually getting alcohol notes in the flavor. Kind of an odd, dull, papery feel to it. Bit of grapefruit and oranges. Kind of meaty at the end. Big, loose, aerated texture is rather annoying. CItrus hops and plain old sugary malt. Alcohol still apparent at the end. Medium to medium-light bodied. Bready. For being filtered and force carbonated, it does look quite nice though, I will reiterate.
