New dark version in this series, shared by tderoeck. Thick, yellowish beige, lacing, stable head, lightly hazy mahogany-hued bronze brown robe. Aroma of pear, coriander seed, pear drop, cloves, soap, lots of caramel, honey. Sweet onset, pear and candied banana, resiny with a lot of residual brown sugariness, medium carbo, bit glueish mouthfeel; thoroughly caramelly malt body with slight toasty edges, softly bitterish, the latter reinforced by a dash of spicy, earthy hops; the all-round caramelly resiny feeling lingers, some retronasal spicy phenols as well. Quite alright.

Thank you tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Belgian Ticks Tasting Ghent”. Clear darker amber, big creamy tanned head. Nose is powdery liquorice, iron, cacao, very big on bark, chicory,… Taste is cacao, liquorice, mocha, iron, cloves, bark, herbal,… Body is thin metallic,… Type of overtly BE dark beer that is thin heavy on chicory coffee, spices, grainy that is passable but nothing really stellar.

Clear red brown beer, creamy irregular beige head, unstable, dissipates immediately. Aroma: caramel, dried fruits, raisins, overripe banana, yeast, sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet, lots of chocolate, caramel, pretty sugary, soft bitterness, slightly roasted. Aftertaste: sweet, caramel yeast, little bitter, quite some chocolate, hoppy bitter touch.

Pours copper redbrown, small white head. Smell is sweet, bit of alcohol. Taste is sharp, bit bitter, chocolaty dark malts, bit roasted, some caramel, fall leaves. Very overcarbonated.

Bottle @ home. Lightly hazy but nice deep dark red to red-brown color, medium sized long lasting beige head. Aroma is quite faint. Don’t really get anything, even after warming up a little bit. Hmm weird. Perhaps later. Taste malts, lightly caramel, some brown candy sugar, quite bitter. Aroma eventually presents some dark fruit hints, but overall it’s quite faint. Body is decent, carbonation is firm, fizzy even and it really annoys me. Overall: Meh at best.

Flesje thuis gedronken. Donkerbruin bier met matig schuim. Aroma heeft iets van pruim / perzik. De smaak is hoppig en fruitig. De licht bittere smaak blijft even hangen. Lekker bier om rustig van te genieten.
