A slighlty pale amber beer with a dying orange head. The aroma is sweet hop juice like - with notes of alfa acids, fruit, and citrus. The flavor has a good hoppiness combined with lighter notes of toffee and brown sugar, the hops gives it an OK bitter end, but the body is thin.

I am not a big fan of brown ales. This was the first time I have had this beer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a dark brown color with a large dark tan head. The aroma is moderately strong floral hops and not much else. The flavor is full of dark dry malts with light chocolate and a moderately strong floral hop element. The finish is dry and vaguely bitter. Not too bad for a brown.

Hazy dark brown colour with a dense dark tan head. Aroma of hops (more than anything), malt, caramel and some light fruityness. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppiness-some malt and a decent amount of sugars. Aftertaste is clean for a brown, shows some residual hoppiness. Overall, not really a brown-no nuts nor caramelised sugars in the taste. A good beer (wierd for me to say-being a brown), but with your eyes closed, you’d think its an APA. Good to try-pick it up if you have it available! I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 09-October-2004 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia with my good friend Jon[R888710].

Very dark brown. Salty, with strange dill aroma and bitter finish. .......

Don't let the name fool you, there's lots of malt here as well. Good balance, and yes, lots of hops on the nose.
