Bottle from Geers. Blond/golden colour, creamy white foam. Bitter, citrussy, citrus peel, dry and grassy. Dry and bitter Belgian blond, not a lot of fruitiness. IPA?

Even the Flierefluiter commissioners are joining into the global hop forward movement with this, bottle shared by tderoeck. Very thick, cobweb-lacing, off-white head consisting of suspiciously large, coarse bubbles - and quickly collapsing as a result, over a lightly hazy straw blonde beer with olive greenish hue. Aroma of dry grass, jute, moist white pepper, dried camomile, raw green cabbage accent, stewed potatoes, cloves, old wrinkled apples. Subdued fruitiness in the mouth: hints of apple peel and unripe pineapple, vaguely sweetish and mildly sourish, fizzy carbonation accentuating the sourish component, smooth mouthfeel. Cereally, lightly bready malt body with sharper grainy edges, evolving into a drying finish of "dimly" spicy, floral and grassy hop bitterness mixed with - in all - rather inappropriate Belgian phenols (cloves). Not too unpleasant really, as a classic "Belgian bitter blond" - just do not expect an IPA in the modern, international sense of the word.

21/VII/17 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk), shared @ Belgian Ticks Tasting (home) - BB: 28/IV/19 (2017-1067)

Clear yellowish beer, lots of small specks floating around under an aery irregular off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: soapy, some citrus, little fruity, spicy touch, yeast. MF: too much carbon, medium body. Taste: hint of citrus, little fruity, bitter touch, spicy, sweet, metallic, grassy. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, some citrus, pretty soapy, floral, bit sourish, bit fruity. By no means an IPA, and from a beer called "Hop! Hop! Hoera!", I would expect at least some nice new world aroma / dry hopping to be noticeable. False advertising... :p

Thank you tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Belgian Ticks Tasting Ghent”. Very pale golden, huge white head. Nose is all washing powder, sweetish, white bread, soap & banana. Taste is bloody sweet, really soap, chemical, banana, sweet white sugar, washing powder,… Body is washing powder, powdery, yeast, chemical,… Really, nothing hop about this, what dry hopping happened here? So Belgian. Not good in general but for an IPA, sometimes I weep looking at the Belgian beer scene.
