Cask at Henry Potts, Chester. Pours a dark chestnut a medium sized off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – vague hints of malts and caramel is the lot. In the mouth it is quite watery with a slight bitterness, and flavours of nuts and malts. After a while some autumn fruits and cloves come through as well leading to a slightly dry finish. It’s ok, but rather bland to say the least – I struggled to finish it.

Hand-pulled pint at The Signal Box Inn, Cleethorpes on 22nd April 2022. Poured into a plastic beaker, it still looked good; Amber body, clear and clean, on top an off-white blanket of foam. Malty front to the aroma with a floral ester or two. The taste an easy going blend of malts and bittering hops, lovely in the afternoon after an hours walk with Bertie and family.
