On tap at the brewery. Slight haze on a pale beer. Somewhat flat. Easy all round in the attitude. Civilized, with manners. Yes, one of the more refined kolsch I’ve tasted. Right up any lager lovers alley. Could use a tad more co2 tho.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish white head that dies down very quickly. Aroma of tart lemons, strong yeast, wheat and some light low a.a. hops. Light-bodied; Strong herbal flavours running in the palate with some good malt and even a subtle spiceyness. Aftertaste shows some of the hops, but not much, with a good malt backbone. Overall, a nice kolsch and another great beer to try! I sampled this 65 cL bottle at the November RB Party at Founder’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-November-2004.

A yellow beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet malty. The flavor is sweet malt with a good deal of hops and the mouthfeel is quite dry.

2004 bottle compliments of bucknaked. Pours a hazy bright goldenrod, bottle conditioned with a big white head. Aroma of hay, grass, light butter, some lightly herbal hops, mineral water, yeast. Flavor is lightly yeast, with some light white bread dough notes, a touch of citrusy hops (very subdued) and a slightly sweet malt finish. Pretty simple stuff, but perfectly executed. Not watery at all (relative to style). Lightly chewy wheat body, medium and refreshing. Touch of light yellow fruits on the end as well. A bit buttery and strong on the malt, I would prefer some more crisp hops notes, or a bit lighter yeast. 7/5/7/3/15
2005 bottle Bitter right away, with honey and flowers. Amber-golden color, with a firm white head and lacing. Light oat-like creaminess, very flavorful. Pale malt, carapils, flowery. Modest carbonation. Soapy, in a way, on the palate, but yet not soapy in flavor. 7/5/7/4/14

Bottled. Cloudy yellow. Grassy apple aroma. Very dry. Light, soft mouthfeel. Hoppy and dry to the point that it almost gets ashy. Bitter finish.
