A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy hops, light honey, so-so. In mouth, sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light watery bodied.

(printemps 2006)

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is light cornish and light malty. Light cornish, mild grassy and light hoppy. Bitter and dry into a crisp hoppy finish.

Draught at the brewpub as Biére au miel. Buttery aroma. Seemingly hazy dark golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is slightly sweet with a rough bitterness in the finish.

An orange beer with a thin biege head. The aroma is very faint malty, while the flavor is malty sweet with notes of caramel, honey, rosehips, and vax from beehives - but without being too much. The mouthfeel is thin, but it could be the quite low serving temperature.

Sampled draught at the brewpub.
Golden colour. Sweetish, medium bodied. There are some orangey hops, the honey is subdued. An easy going but rather well balanced ale.

I'm not into the American-style honey beers. I like most Belgian-style honey beers, but these always seem too light, and too sticky in the finish. Brutopia's, while drinkable, is no exception.
