Specially brewed for the 2004 AOB Craft Brewers Conference held in San Diego, CA. This ale is the result of a collaborative effort between three San Diego County brewers and breweries. Peter Zien of AleSmith Brewing, Tomme Arthur of Pizza Port Solana Beach /Port Brewing, and Lee Chase of Stone Brewing all gathered together and brewed this celebratory ale up at the Stone Brewing Co.
This Belgian-style strong golden ale was brewed with multiple yeast strains, a pretty substantial amount of Czech Saaz hops, and a touch of lemon grass.

22oz bottle thanks to Ken. Pours out a crisp golden topped with a white head. Nose is oxidation unfortunately pit fruit sweetness and lots of malts. Taste is more of the old notes plenty of the sweet malts toffee some pit fruit. Thanks end this was sweet to try.

Bottle share, thanks indianared. deep golden colir, small white head. Sweet malty aroma, sort of syrupy. Tastes of sweet, cereal grains and malt. Faded hops. I bet this was pretty solid a decade ago. It’s old and awesome for a ticker.

Aroma is that of oxidation. Lots of cardboard, newspaper and honey. Light Lemon pepper character hiding behind the oxidation. Stale malt notes. Pours a pale, cloudy golden orange with a moderate, slightly off white head with above average retention. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly better than the aroma because the oxidation is less prevalent, but it is still very strong. Rather sweet with some light spice notes and stale malt. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium light carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall a shadow of what it must have been. Really not good and a nice example of oxidation

Bottle at the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens on 08/03/2008 on day three of RBSG 2008. Clear golden amber body with a small off-white head. Sweet light malt and floral hops aroma. Sweet malty body with light hops. Medium body with mdoerately high carbonation.

2004 Bottle. Pours a rocky off-white head with a clear yellow body. Aroma of orange, corriander, vanilla and a bit of rye. Taste is yeasty with some vanilla and coriander and a bit of spice from the lemongrass. Dry mouthfeel with lively bubbles.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow. Lacing white head. Dry wooden hops aroma. Smooth and slight hoppy finish. Slight spiced too. Held up quite good given it’s age.

Bottle: Poured an hazy golden color ale with small head with minimal retention. Aroma of coriander is clearly evident. Taste is very Belgian-lie with lots of coriander, Belgian yeast and some distinctive Stone hops. Body is way too thin for my liking and maybe is a bit oxidized. OK, but I’m sure those three brewers have produced better things in the past.

(Bottle 65 cl) Slightly hazy, golden beer with a creamy, white head. Distinct hoppy nose. Fruity flavours - lemon I believe - and a touch of coriander perhaps. Yeasty and malty with some spices. Smooth mouthfeel. Very fresh and highly drinkable. 120805
