Goldings Summer Hop Ale is a light flavored bitter made with Kentish malt and fresh Goldings hops. Taken from fields within 5 miles of the Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham, it is this particular growth of Goldings hop that give the beer its powerfully floral and scented aroma and biscuity taste.

Cask, gravity Merton Summer Beer Festival July 2005, retrospectively added from notes Pours golden in colour initially a tad sweet but the bitterness is there, reasonable hoppiness and fruitiness the sweetness returns again, its ok.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Bronze colour. Aroma of boiled vegetables and tiger balm. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. A simplistic ale that I would’ve guessed were poured from a can.

Cask. Dark copper colour. Green apple flavour and aftertaste. OK pint, but too boring for me.

Cask at The Cricketers, Canterbury Now normally I like the Shepherd Neame seasonals, but this pint was the bottom of the barrel and I had to return it. Landlord was very good and took it off sale straight away and went and changed barrel. I will re-rate when I have a better pint.

Orange to amber colo. Light hop aroma, pretty fruity. Very fresh taste, good hop aroma in the front, bringing out a malt character in the middle, ending with a mix of caramel and bitterness. Summer ale, light but really enjoyable.

[Cask at Charlie's Bar] The aroma is a very faint hoppy one. The color is a beutiful amber and it has a small head. The flavor is dominated by a fine sweetness combined with a little cask flatness (even though it was just put on). The flavor comes from a good malt blend. It ends on a flowery mild bitterness. A lightly hoppy "bitter".
