Pint on tap at Galbraith's. Hand pull from cask. Crystal clear golden amber beer with a small creamy head. Subdued malty hoppy nose, very English. Nice lacing. Refreshingly bitter, even a touch of nettles/resin. Finish is bitter, earthy, herbal. Nice 'best' bitter, true to style.

(Cask) Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Fat malty aroma. Medium body with a soft, low carbonated mouthfeel. Solid caramellish malt base but never sweet. Dry, hoppy finish. 070208

Cask at the brewpub. Copper colour, grassy nose. Sweet with clean crystal malt character. There’s some toffee and a salty bitterish finish, but the simplistic malt character makes it far less interesting than it’s lighter brother, Bob Hudson.
