Apparently Kenya's Tusker pale lager has this 'branch' in the Vanuatu island state in the Southern Pacific, where this variant is locally brewed, much to my surprise. Never though to taste a drop of beer coming from Vanuatu so cheers again to tderoeck. Should normally form a moussey, snow white, thick head, but the tasted sample was dead as a dodo (which is from Mauritius, not Vanuatu), with very pale brass colour rather than actual gold (one of the palest pale lagers I had seen in a long time). Aroma of fried rice, white pepper, bird seed, oxidized green apple, unripe banana peel. Sweetish, simplistic onset, oxidized apple and vague unripe banana again, slick and very thin cereally middle, bit metallic, with this apple-ish oxidation returning over a structure so feeble that it crushes underneath it - with no hop bitterness whatsoever to come and save the day. Probably very bland even when fresh - but I do not recall the original Kenyan Tusker, which I had in fresh condition not that long ago, to be this bland and thin... I can only conclude that this Vanuatu version is a diluted carbon copy of the original, which is obviously not the 'fullest' beer to begin with either - so very little remains, I am afraid...
