Bottle from Boxbeers. Pours pitch black with a thin brown head. Nice licorice aroma, coffee notes, roastedness, some tobacco and hops. Gets almost black IPA like at times. Smooth mouthfeel, creamy. Hoppy bite in finish with lots of salty licorice. Lovely.

Tap @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich licorice, chocolate, coffee, hops and has a nice sweet licorice finish.

Draught @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, licorice. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel,coffee, chocolate, loads of licorice, little alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation, sweet finish with light warming alcohol. Fine, but a bit to much licorice for me. 040117

Bottle, 8.5%. Almost black with tiny beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel and liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, liquorice, little vanilla, hop, medium sweet and medium bitter.

Black with small brown head. Chocolate, coffee and licorice aroma. Flavour has liccorice, coffee. Slightly sticky but otherwise light in a nice way and very drinkable.

Almost black. Minimal mocha head disappears quickly. No signs of lacing. Smell has strong roasted malt and coffee, maybe a hint of dark/dried fruits. Fairly intense but not too complex. Taste follows the aroma, again not much going on. Sweetness and bitterness in balance with a moderately bitter finish that is quite too quick/empty. Medium to dense body with low carbonation, still not creamy or ’full’ in any way. Mediocre

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Stigbergets Russian Imperial Stout ].Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, chocolate, sweet chocolate, vanilla, moderate roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, smooth. Sample at SBWF 2016. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, some light coffee and hints of fruit. Similar taste. The body was kind of full and the finish rather long.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 1 Oct 2015) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of strong black coffee, liquorice, soy sauce and roasted malt. Malty, roasted taste with espresso, liquorice, soy sauce and a slightly sweetish finish with a generous coffee bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made imperial stout. Very nice.
