22oz bomber. Thick, just about opaque brown-orange color. The aroma is rather rugged, with some deep, piny, alcohol laced, hoppy, butterscotch which seems a bit off. Relatively mild carbonation for the style. Earthy toffee, and some thick malt make up the heart if this beer, and there is some thick, resiny hops to even it all out. Different in a lot of ways than your typical IIPA. Never comes off as an alcohol bomb, just full bodied and flavorful.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Hasa sweetish malty hoppy bitter aroma with hints of citrus and caramel. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter flavor with hints of grapefruit and some hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty and warming bitter hoppy finish wit a long bitter aftertaste.

Pours a rich amber-orange color with a medium and frothy off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine resin and hops. Medium body with a moderately bitter hoppy character that has notes of pine and citrus. Some malt in the background too. The finish is hoppy with caramel malt undertones, and a lightly spiced hops aftertaste. Above average overall, however it falls a little short in the IIPA distinction.

Bitter malt. Some hops in the aroma, but mostly malt. Flavor is just a little sweet and is balanced by a strange bitterness with flavor I can’t recognize.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear pale amber, small head. Aroma of caramel and paper with a dash of black cherries. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. There’s caramel and crystalized sugar as well as some unusual rosehip. Sugary finish with growing inky bitterness. Very strange DIPA. Almost no aroma hops up front, it’s too sweet, and the malt structure is sub-par as well.

Bomber pours hazy orange-ish copper with tan to off white head. The aroma is mild with some malts and a hodgepodge of hops and a hint of fruity esters. The taste begins with a mixture of grapefruit, tangelo, pine, mild floral, pineapple, orange peel and spice hops (it has it ALL!). There’s also a mild malt sweetness hanging around underneath. I really like the taste of this. I can sense the hint of organic stale grains common with organic brews but maybe the big flavor just drowns it in its own staleness.

Bomber from Bottle Barn! Nose of very sweet flowery hops with a vanilla note; hazy copper with a medium, glass-lacing beige head; flavor of vanilla, spices, sweetness, and hop bitterness. Finish is light bitterness. 6/3/7/3/13/3.2 Draft at the Bistro’s 8th DIPA Fest; Nose of floral hops and caramel; murky copper with a small straw head; flavor well balanced with light caramel and hop bitterness

Rich roasted malt aroma with light floral notes. Orange amber color with a white head that ringed. The body is little more than thin. The carbonation is extremely mild. Starts with strong bitter backed by a lot of darker malt sugar. I think there’s a little bit of a lot of hops - floral, citrus, resin. The resin comes out a bit stronger after a few mouthfuls. It’s stronger in malt and hop than many an IPA, but it is not as malty and bitter as many DIPAs. The finish is quite pleasant, no harshness, no excess sweetness. A friendly drink that allows appreciation of the many components. Clean and fresh.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a light tan head. Piney aroma with sweet malt and citrus fruit. Fruity (citrus and other) hop flavor with a bit of resin and some richer malts. Pine comes to the forefront and lingers with the caramel. Nice bitterness. Not much hops in flavor or aroma as many IIPAs, but still nicely done. Fuller bodied. Leaves you wanting more.
