I really like this beer, and it reminds me quite a bit of SN’s current oktoberfest. Golden color, nice vinous maltiness, a bit juicy, toffee. Good peppery hoppiness, gives it a small kick and a balanced finish. Shows a little off-fruitiness if you drink it too warm, so put a good chill on it.

Bottle from Harvest Market Pours a clear copper color with a smallish off white head that hangs around for a bit. Light toffee and earthy floral hops in the aroma along with a hint of mineral water. The flavor is light toffee and sweet malts with a light fruity twang. Light earthy hop provides some balance. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick watery mouthfeel. Nothing horribly exciting here, pretty poor excuse for an Oktoberfest, I wouldn’t buy this again.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours light copper with a slight, transient beige head. Mild caramel/roast aroma. Flavor starts toffee, moving to a bit bready, picking up some grassy? hop, and ending a little papery. Balanced, but rather bland.

12 oz. bottle from Bert’s Better Beer. Mostly clear copper color. Lasting white head with decent retention. Caramel malt and I smell apples. Lightly sweet with a clean straight malt taste. Notes of nuts. Soft Co2 with a medium body. Ok, I like the Florida Beer Marzen a bit better. But is much better then Otter Creek Octoberfest. It reminders me of the Paulaner Marzen.

Bottle in NYC with Chris. Pours orange-gold, clear, with a monstrous, white head. Bread and caramel on the nose, slight toast. Medium sweet flavor, caramelized sugar, slight dry leaves, some berries. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild bitter finish, some dryness, sugar and bread, caramel. OK, decent representation of the style.

Bottled. Clear amber, brief head. Caramelly nose. Sweet and medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Chewy and caramelly with medium body, low hop rate and low bitterness. A rather enjoyable but simple beer. As always from American brewers their Oktoberfest beers has more to do with bottom fermented amber ales than the Greman thing.

Pours amber into a shaker. Bright white head quickly recedes to coat surface leaving spot lacing. Sweet caramel aromas. Thin with malt from front to back. Dry, sweet finish.

Super clear coloured amber/orange coloured body with a very thin tan head. VERY funky aroma of nuts, eggs and more nuts...maybe some malt in there as well. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavours up front with nuts and a tiny bit of sugars near the end. Aftertaste shows more of the malt and nuts - nothing else really. Overall, a decent beer, a bit too nutty for me for the season, but not bad at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from K&E Discount Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 25-November-2007.
