Opaque black color, good brownish creamy head. Aroma has licorice, coffee beans, vegetables and alcohol. Medium to full-bodied. Licorice, chocolate, alcohol, lingering roasted aftertaste. Not much vanilla found.

Black with small tan head. Aroma has chocolate and woody vanilla notes. Thick and rich mouthfeel. Flavour has roasted malt, brown sugar, light bourbon notes, bitter chocolate and wood. Quite complex. Very drinkable. Once again a solid imperial stout from Ghost. Very good.

Poured from a 33cl bottle courtesy of Zakoon. Aroma has a moderately strong bourbon character. Medium chocolate notes with medium light roast. Faint tobacco and leather. Light vanilla. More roast and vanilla as it warms. More dark fruit as well with some plums and prunes. Pours black with a meidum sized, fairly thick, mocha head that slowly, but steadily recedes to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and moderate legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a moderate roast note and medium dark chocolate notes. Some light tobacco and leather notes with medium light dark fruit character of plum and prunes. Some light alcohol spice. Vanilla is really light and hidden behind the bourbon notes. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low to medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, I think I like this more than the coffee version but the vanilla is almost nonexistent and hidden behind the bourbon notes. An easy drinking imperial stout, but I was hoping for more vanilla. Nice roast and dark malt notes.
