Bottle. Hazy yellow colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is wheat, some grains, mild citrus, bread and mild hay to it. Flavour is pretty much following the pattern of the aroma. On the watery side of things.

Draft at Folkklubs Ala, Rīga. Cloudy yellow as is befitting the style. Pleasant floral scent with lemon peel and peaches. Sweet taste with more floral notes in the short finish. Well carbonated. I like this a lot on its own merit. It isn’t any kind of Hefe I recognise, but what the hell. It tastes surprisingly good,

Looks like ananas juice with big creamy white head. Smells like ripe banana, pear, bubblegum, flowers, vanilla. Tastes like overripe pear and pulp. Too sweet! 500ml bottle purchased in Rimi, Riga and shared 22.Mar.2012 @Rating Session)

(Bottle. Thanks to SaintMatty) Cloudy yellow colour with frothy, rich, white head. Malty, slightly wheaty nose with notes of citrus, lemon peel, white bread, peaches and hay. Malty, fruity taste with peaches, lemon, white bread, slightly soapy wheat and a touch of banana. Medium body, slightly sweetish. Decent but hardly exciting.

500 ml bottle shared at beer session IXX in Tromsø 220312. Massive, dense and nearly impenetrable white head. Little lacing. Body resembles thin, hazy yellow pineapple juice and sadly this also translates to the strong aroma of overripe fruits, vanilla and other sweet spices. Flavour similar to aroma, though not as strong. Watered palate. Sourish finish unable to counter too-sweet aroma and taste. Avoid.

On 14th Jan 2012 I decided to have a lager/pilsner/helles/weiss beer evening: a 500ml bottle of this beer was taken during that evening. Sadly the bottle was two months past its best before date, but it didn’t ruin the tasting. Poured into a ‘Licher’ badged Weizen glass it looked the part: cloudy, dull yellow/old gold colour with a good solid white head sat on top. Old school Hefeweizen: wheat esters, banana and vanilla smells and tastes. Add some pepper, lemon flavours, plus a honey melon and you’ve just about got the taste characteristics correct. Really pleased I found this in an Eastern European store while staying in Cambridge last year, pity I didn’t check the date before shelving it though.

500ml bottle, by courtesy of Elisabeth and Stefan. Huge, concrete, chalk white head resting over a hazy, yellow-golden body. Fragile lacing. Smell of ripe banana with sweet spices. Sweet banana and vanilla in flavour followed by hints of citrus tartness to the finish, but not enough to counter all the sweetness. Bland impression (shared at a drinking session in Tromsø, 22.03.2012).

Bottled. Cloudy yellow, rich head. Aroma of paper with slight notes of banana. Sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel and a lemony tingle ans some sugar. Low bitterness. A bold wheat beer with clumsy flavours and low drinkability.

Draught (Melnais Kakis, Riga) - Hazy golden/yellow in apprerance with a small foamy head. Aromatic and slightly spicy aroma with a hint of lemon meringue and banana. Refreshing taste with lemon and a light spice element along with the banana notes featuring again. It would be great if they bottled it. A nice wheat beer.

On tap in Riga. Cloudy golden colour, moderate head for a hefeweizen. Not served in appropriate glass. Basically a typical hefeweizen aroma and flavour, with strong notes of cloves - but the flavour is somewhat less fruity than many other h.w.s. Nice enough, but the finish is rather bland.
