Spiced ale by Crystalstick, flavoured with camomile, “sweet orange” and coriander. Membrane-lacing, creamy, dense, medium thick, off-white, slowly opening head over cloudy ochre-tinged apricot blonde robe. Weird, very perfumey but admittedly not unpleasant aroma with very strong sweet-floral effects from the camomile blending with the sweet orange (a combination not unlike meadowsweet blossoms, rosewater, camphor and even coconut), banana, soggy white bread, strawberry, coriander soapiness, buttermilk, lemon drop. Fruity onset, apricot, pear, banana, sweetish but nothing sugary, softish carb, fluffy breadiness with light honeyish touch; drying, bit earthy finish, soaked in a lot of floral-powdery-herbal camomile, citrus peel effects and coriander spiciness with some phenolic side notes too; lingering fruity esters with bitterish hops, but the sweet-perfumey effect remains. Weird, and I usually dislike overly spiced / flavoured beers, but I have to admit that this one was quite enjoyable to me - yet I can easily understand how this divides opinions, as is clear enough from the rating below. One remark, though: if you put wild on the label, the modern beer afficionado will expect something with Brettanomyces, so that was a bit confusing (and, frankly, disappointing) here...

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, medium sized off-white head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, lightly something wild yeah you could say that, yeast. Typical blonde beer with some light tart hints which I'm assuming is the wild part. Not bad.

Bouteille 33cl @ parent's place, BB 08/2019.
