Draught at Steel Toad, Vancouver; 250ml
Black color with nitro creamy beige head. Nice, delicate coffee aroma. Silky roasted malts dancing on the tongue with dark Belgian chocolate and a dash of boutique coffee, then embracing the qualities of the hops for a moderately resiny final, extremely long. Creamy, almost milky. Coffee truffle. Good body strength, with moderate sweetness, freshness.
Elegant beer, wonderful.

On nitro tap at Steel Toad, pours black with a massive cascading beige head. Best thing to write about this would be in comparison without the regular Pch Mortel. Aroma brings out a lovely toasted nuts, lightly roasted coffee and subdued roasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very nutty coffee, light espresso and moderate roasted malt. Smooth and creamy palate, with a lightly roasted and fairly nutty finish. Excellent.

A deep dark imperial stout with a thick nitro brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate cara malt with light coffee notes, light vanilla, light licorice, very nice. In mouth, loads of bitter chocolate and coffee notes, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. On tap at L’autre oeil, Péché Mortel Day, March 11 2017.

Draught @ Steel Toad. Dark brown with a very thick nitro head. Has a fairly rich coffee nose. On the palate it’s intense, bitter, with a lot of coffee, medium chocolate, and only in the finish does it show some sweetness. A fun variant, so intense.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy, on Journee Peche. Pours pitch black with cream foam, very fine, fluffy and persistent. Aroma has some coffee, chocolate, and a nice creamy feeling. Body is medium, with some stickiness, just a bit of astringency and literally no carbonation. Taste is exquisite: quote an alcoholic feeling, some sweetness, little bitterness but persistent, in general a very round taste. Finish is looong...
