Fra fat på Mi2 Cardinal mai-17: runsvart med flott skum som varer. Kraftig og god aroma og smak med mørkrøstet malt, mørke sjokolader, kaffe og etter hvert litt lakris. Ganske tørr avslutning (med snev av solbær) og fin bitterhet.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, tan head. Nice aroma of roast malts, liquorice, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Roasty flavour, notes of coffee, liquorice, solid bittering hops. The best beer I’ve had from this brewery so far.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma of chocolate, liquorice, some coffee, some vanilla. Tastes sweet with roasted bitterness. Medium bodied, dry finish.

Sample at SBWF 2016. (labeled as Oktoberfest Stout) Black with a tan head. A bit on the sweet side with dark malt, caramel, chocolate and licorice. The body was medium as was the bitterness.

Keg at SBWF (as Oktoberfest Stout). Black, beige head. Grassy hoppy licorice aroma. Mid sweet with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and licorice. Mild tarry bitter finish.

(Keg at Willi Väinö, 20160506) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts and liquorice. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, ash, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, ashy and bitter. A very burnt brew but still surprisingly balanced.

Draught@HBF2016. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is fruity, liquorice, mild rubber and some earthy notes. Flavour is burnt rubber, some mild toffee, toasted malts and mild liquorice.

Tap@ HBF 2016. Near black with a thick off white head. Thick roasty, chocolaty aroma. Flavor has chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Tasty. Nice coffee flavors.

Tap at HBF 2016, Helsinki. Colour is black with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Licorice, coffee, some dark chocolate and roasted malts. Not bad.
