Keg at Manx Pub, Ottawa. Clear copper colour, rich head. Fruity caramelly nose. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Minerally and caramelly. Some salmiak in a mid bitter finish.

First of two Cassel brews tonight. Purchased at the brewery. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a beige head and some creamy lacing. Aromas of caramel, toffee and roasted malts. Fruity flavours with caramel notes. Hints of nuts. Nothing too crazy, but does the job for a red ale.

This definitely tastes more like an amber lager or Vienna than an ale. Some very mild malt here and not much else. Purse clear red without head or lacing. Finishes with light sourness and some sweetness. Tap at Black Tomato.

A hazed reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a nutty caramel with light boiled veggies. In mouth, a sweet veggie malt with mineral notes, a tad boring.
