A fine white head on a deep golden body. Nose of a mid-range IPA, with some tropical fruit, lemon and caramel malt. A tasty understated beer with citrus and ripe tropical fruit, biscuit malt and a mild yeast presence. Chewy malt and tropical hops grow through the taste experience.

Clear golden pour, small white head. Bready malts, grassy hops, light spice, light sweetness. Crisp, clean mouth feel, hints if off paper flavours with some low bitterness, and some sweet bready malts.

Keg at Big Rig Brewery, Ottawa. Clear golden, mid sized head. Spicy citrusy nose. Dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with some butter, spice and citrus. Mid bitter finish with some saccharine. Was hoping for a fuller malt character. Hops are dominant here. Quite nice, anyway.

Can from the LCBO. Clear pale gold with a one finger fluffy white head that leave some lace. Nose has some light apple and melon with some grass and floral notes. Flavour is lightly sweet with a touch of tart apple and some light+ bitterness but with some distracting metallic notes. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a crisp finish. 7/3/5/3/12

Pours a clean light amber colour with a warm cap creating some foamy lace. Nice fresh hop aromas with tropical fruit notes and some grapefruit. The taste is where the Maibock shows up with some sweetness, fruitiness and some darker cereal malts. Flavours seem a little unbalanced sometimes, but others, pretty good with the grassy hops. Pretty refreshing overall.

A golden maibock with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, loads of citrus lemon pulp, light tropical fruits, resinous floral hops, quite a hoppy interpretation. In mouth, a nice mix of citrusy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, biscuit malt, light esters, very pleasant. But don’t see the Bock here... On tap at Ogilvie location.
