(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with dark bread, wort, caramel, treacle-toffee, dried figs, prunes, orange peel, red berries and a touch of apricot marmalade. Malty taste with notes of caramel, wort, dark bread, treacle-toffee, orange peel, apricot marmalade and a mild spicy bitterness in a vinous and warming finish. Almost full body, sweet. Tasty, warming and quite well balanced winter warmer. Nice one.

0,33 flaske fra Systembolaget Hansa Malmø, hjemme på lille nyttårsaften: brunsvart med fint, storboblet skum som varer. Mørke karameller, svisker, sviskeplommer, dessertchokolader a la Anton Bergs Blomme i madeira, knekk og mandler. Mørk, fyldig og heftig - nesten som en beskrivelse av meg selv (bortsett fra at jeg med mine 68 kilo neppe kan plasseres i kategorien fyldig)...

Deep nutty pour with an ok head. Some lacing. Good intensity in the aroma. Toffee and dried fruits. Full body and a fine carbonation level. A bit to boozy after a while. Oily texture. Toffee, dried fruits and some spices in the flavor. Felt a bit raw at my attempt. Probably better after some years in the basement.

Bottle from Systembolaget Stockholm (the one near the station Nr our hotel). Consumed at home Monday 2nd January 2017. Mid to dark brown, it has a nice loose, big bubble lazy head. A touch too spicy if truth be told, however it’s winter spices and guess as it says on the tin. It does not taste 10%+ at all, a little watery toffee, chewy malty and caramel. It’s not really my thing. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Bottle 50 cl. Dark, reddish, nutty brown with a beige head. Complex aroma, overripe fruit - and alcohol. Rich, malty body, nutty, overripe fruit, solid bitterness. I’d call it a British Style Barley Wine - and a good one. 271216
