Bottle. Clear deep amber color with white head. Aroma is walnuts, caramel, raisins, very nice sherry character! Taste is raisins, walnuts, caramel, a bit woody, sweet, but also, not sour at all, nice complexity. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Very, very good!

Aromas are mainly sour with a little caramel malt and fruit. Flavors are similar to nose, maybe there's some Sherry in there? Caramel comes on a little stronger sweet tart and slight bitter are balanced but there's some metallic in the Finish. Little sign of the alcohol. Not bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to find it again.

Lot no. 838. Sweet barleywine, bit of fruityness with a good amount of bitterness to balance it out, bitter aftertaste. Thick enough. Some light, fruity sourness. Barrel aging adds oak, sweet PX and some apple flavors. Not as sweet as many other PX BA.

Bottle. Color: clear orange amber, thin off-white head. Aroma: Sweet, apples, alcohol. Taste: Strong, boozy blond beer with notes of apple and bitter fruity notes. Starting over medium sweet, notes of yellow fruit like apples, sweet grapes and hints of peach, moderate bitter. Sugary sticky mouthfeel. More fruity bitterness at finish. Bit boozy, lightly warming palate. Very slightly fruity sourness. Very difficult to rate. Nice complexity, pretty well balanced flavours, but whether I like it or not as a beer? Hard to answer that question...
