Costa Ricans have been enjoying this beer since 1924. Imperial is created from a balanced formula combining malts, grains and hops, without a pronounced overtone in its taste. It is what is known as a “centralized” beer. Adapted to a warm and spring-like climate, Imperial is Florida’s most popular and widely accepted beer, both nationally and internationally, and has thus become the favorite beer of Costa Rica.

Golden with a lasting white head. Dusty grain aroma with a herbal hop note and a bit of DMS. Sweet grainy flavour with a dusty touch and a decent hoppy finish - for a tropical lager at least

pours light yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is pale grains, crackers and corn. Flavor is malt liquor like with lots of sweet corn and pale malts, little to no hop character and a little sour citrus in the finish.

This became my go-to beer as i traversed Costa Rica. Pours a pale straw that is crystal clear. Full white head that leaves quickly. Cereal grain and malt aroma. Taste is mostly grain. Pretty clean and crisp. Not terrible. Sweetish, with a quick finish. This beer does not have as many off-putting flavors as the other CR beers, and was my favourite of the trip.

Got can in a trade. Pours a clear, pale gold with a white head. Nose is of grain. Taste isn’t bad. Light malt. Mouthfeel is tingly carbonation. Smooth, easy to drink. For a lager, ok

Bottle (this is going to be the first of a long list of rating for some pale lager form Costa Rica). Poured a bright golden color lager with a small bubbly head with minimal retention. Aroma of of lightly sweet adjunct and not much else is bland. Taste is also quite bland with balanced sweetness originating form adjunct. Body is medium for style with OK carbonation. Not gross in any way and I guess it is just what it intended to be.

Bottle thanks to swalden28. Pours with a pale golden body and a fading head. Aroma of corn sugar, cardboard, soil and water. Taste is watery and nothing much else (thankfully). Fizzy.
