Handwerklich eingebraut nach dem B ayerischen Reinheitsgebot von 1516. Heftig getorftes, schottisches Malz. Einzigartiges Rauchbier weitab klassischer Vertreter mit Buchenholzaroma . Entstanden in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Nürnberger Whisky Club ‚The Most Venerable Order Of The Highland Circle’, dem Georg Rittmayer angehört. Nichts für Malzbiertrinker.

330 ml Bottle. Pours with a clar amber color and a niche medium sized white head. The nose is peated-smoke, malty, some toffee and dried fruits, slightly sweet. Taste reminds a little bit of Islay whiskys. Smoke, peat, malt, leather, earthy and hints of caramel-dried fruits. Nice balance og smoke and malt. Good one!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear amber with a small, off-white head. Nose is extremely smoky from peated Scottish whisky malt. Solid base body of caramellish malts, but everything is overpowered by the nasty peat that leaves your palate soaked in tar and iodine. Not for those faint at heart. 210317

Bottle. Clear reddish-brown-amber color with tan head. Aroma is peat smoke, leathery, earthy, toffee. Taste is again leathery, earthy, caramel, smoked tea, somehow with a velvety, oily mouthfeel, also a bit moreish and minerally. Natural carbonation. I usually claim that peat smoke should stay in Whisky and prefer beechwood or oakwood smoked malts in beer, but this one does have a nice balance to it - and it definitely does stick to its Franconian roots.

Pours light brown from the bottle. The frothy head soon fades to a thin, whispy layer. The aroma is smoke. Or rather, SMOKE. There’s nothing subtle here and not much room for other aromas. Taste is caramel sweet, smokey, and not always altogether pleasant. Notes of burnt rubber and electrical fire are present. The beer also suffers from a palate that feels to watery, especially going into the finish. The other elements of the beer are also hard to find behind the smoke, and what there is, doesn’t seem especially enticing. Not a bad beer in every sense, but not one I’m likely to try again.

Feel the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours brownish gold with white foam. Aroma is strongly smoked. Body is medium with low carbonation. Taste has some sweetness and lots of smoked feeling. Some light bitterness emerges. Finish is long and smoky.

Bottle. Copper with a decent head. Aroma is phenolic and Islay peat smoke. Just from the aroma I would have never guessed this was a beer...Taste is very malty, sweet and caramell at first, then woody and finally the peat shows up, takes over and annihilates everything else. Total peat domination. Aftertaste is peat eternal. Very intense and well made. The first Whisky beer I ever had that didn’t feel like a gimmick. But I’m still glad I didn’t have to finish this small bottle all on my own.

330ml bottle. Clear, orangey amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Peaty aroma, hints of TCP, leather, cautious hints of caramel in the background. Taste is dry, smoky, peaty, hints of wet ashes, a touch of leather, cautious caramel malty background with subtle sweetness. Not too sweet, not too peaty, insofar balanced but not fully harmonious, slightly unilateral due to the peat dominance.
