Thank you Aminatchime! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). Dark brown, off-white head. Nose is metallic, herbal, leaves, low soy sauce, malty, kitchen spices and leaves. Taste is soap, sugar, fish guts, basic bread, herbal, sweet with stale kitchen spices. Body is iron, soap, stale kitchen spices. Big meh but also big improvement over their blond for me.

From a 75 cl bottle shared by Animatchime at RBBWG. Brand new beer, basically a home brew but apparently sold so already ’official’. Thick, moussy, cobweb-lacing, off-white head, warm chestnut-hued bronze robe, misty. Aroma of banana bread, stewed pear, caramel, soggy bread, apple cake, medlar, raisins, ginger, apple sauce, plum. Sweet, estery, very fruity onset, lots of pear, banana and peach, some underlying sourishness, soft carbo with a fluffy, full, rounded and soft mouthfeel; caramelly malt middle with honeyish and fruity sweetness on top, some phenols in the end (cloves), earthy hop bitterness, lingering bready yeastiness. Much more accomplished than the blonde, if you ask me, but still a very stereotypical Belgian artisanal ’dubbel’.
