Art from Silly.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Dark, but clear, brown pour, small foamy head. Aroma is rich and fruity, grapes, malts, peat. Tadte brings in more burgundy notes, woody, sweet, mildly tart. Burgundy barrels really added a lot of character to this.

Pours clear deep mahogany into a Trappist glass. Tan head with little retention recedes to nothing. Molasses, toffee, and dark grape aromas. Soft with sweet hot toffee, burgundy, raisins, and earthy hop front to back.

Bottle split at CBC Islington, thanks to Kenny, 29/11/17. Rich mahogany brown with a decent light beige cap. Nose is biscuit crumbs, strawberry notes, toffee, brown sugars, light barrel. Taste comprises caramel, spice, dried fruits, vinous notes, mellow burgungy tang, fruit loaf, red grape must, toffee. Full bodied, fine carboantion, semi drying close. Ok stuff.

Bottle at CBC Islington. Big thanks to Kenny! It pours hazy deep ruby - red with a thick white head. The aroma isn’t soft, fresh, bready, cake, nips of red wine, raspberry, brioche, Victoria sponge and wood. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, jammy, red berry, candied fruits, red apple, cherry drops, light wood, vinous and a touch of alcohol with a soft, sweetish finish. Medium+ body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Nice depthand great balance. Very nice indeed.

Craft Islington Bottleshare. Hazy deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy, mildly dry and has decent carbonation. Smooth malts, light creamy sweetness. Ripe red berry fruits and red wine. Traces of vanilla and wood. There is a very mild sourish gueuzey thing here which gives it an edge. Trace of cherry. Pretty tasty.
