(Bottle, Delirium Café, Brussels, 21 May 2017) Pale amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with tropical fruit, coriander and spicy yeast. Malty, fruity taste with notes of tropical fruit, bread, hints of yeast and a balanced spicy bitterness in a finish with a slight alcohol bite. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made tripel. Nice one.

THANKS! 330 ml. bottle sampled at Delirium Cave. Seems like a new commission brewery, currently selling one beer brewed at “La Bière Tombale”. Hazy orange, off-white creamy head. Nose is lightly oxidized honey malt, very Belgian, Belgian yeast, sugar, rather bland with big sweet banana. Taste is sugar, creamy big sweet banana, sugar, low honey, very Belgian, basic, sweet & plain, substantial body. In general, bland, sweet & boring, this is easily one of the best things I have had from Grain d’Orge so far but that says more about the quality of their beers than anything else. I suppose there is still room in Belgium for a new commission brewery marketing one bland very Belgian Tripel with a decent label.
