Great! Aged very well... Good balance, not to peated. A bit of piment in the nose and little bit on the tongue... Chapeau Jef! Wonderful!

Flesje met nummer 388 / 999 gedeeld met Benzai en Tomhendriksen. Amberkleurig bier met stevig schuim. Aroma is fruitig en zoet. Smaak is vol en zoet. Jammer dat de smaak vlug weg ebt.

Bottle shared by Inoven @ Inoven rates 1k tasting! Clear reddish color, small to average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, peat, sweet, alcohol. Heavy. Too heavy and peaty for me.

Fles 388/999 gedeeld door Inoven, geprobeerd met Inoven, Roelzie1986 en Benzai. Het is een oranje geel bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een lekkere houtige geur. De smaak is vol, zoet en houtig.

Medium, slowly receding yellowish head over clear amber beer, apparently not very carbonated. Bit sharpish, toasted nose, quite spicy. Spices are very obvious, but not necessarily only piment. I get cinnamonbark, mace, and especially cedarwood, somehow peated. Again cedarwood, but now more typically chilli/piment. Toast again, caramel, quite a bit of peat too, tarry, even Islay malt. Strawberry syrup. Fierce alcoholheat, strengthened by the peating. Slick, viscous, well-bodied, not undercarbonated. Difficult to say precisely why, but something in here attracts me, and I find that a bit surprising; I suppose Lovecraft would now why...

Thank you for sharing! Bottle sampled @ MEUG 2017. Apparently this one is a blend of Kraken and Leviathan. It is definitely better than the 2 base beers which I utterly hatted but unsurprisingly I am still not a big fan. Nose is varnish, peat, raw industrial alcoholic medicinal peat, flat. Taste is fizzy chemical peated industrial, rubber, chemical, luckily some malt base here, orange. Fizzy body, nail polish, industrial. It is definitely better than the 2 base beer, Jef appears to be a skilled blender, still a fan.

Thnx to Jeff ! Pours dark blonde, small white head. Smell instantly gives the barrels ( this is a blend of leviathan and kraken, but not 50/50 ) . Taste is very full The weird thing is, it starts of peated ( I just hate perated ) but even though it’s clearly, unmistakenably peat, I do kindof enjoy it at this dose. Than the sweetness of the brandy takes over and finishes the peat before it becomes to much. I actually quite like this ! One might agrue that the barrels taste too intense, but at the end of the day, when it’s good - it’s just good. A full, rich, powerfull tasteblend that works very well together, and far overpowers both ot the seperate editions.

06/01/2016 @home - 50cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte. Clear amber colour, small fading head leaving a nice lacing. Nose is malts, banana, caramel, peat. Taste is malty, heat from the spices and some light spice taste as well, sweetness, banane, caramel, dry peated. Nice thick mouthfeel. All the tastes came a bit seperate from each other making it a nice tasting trip. Not at all easy drinking, sure in the beginning, even one of the hardest ones lately, but I didn’t mind at all, even enjoyed that a lot!

Bottle 432/999. What's this?! Weird. Dry and peated to damnation. Spicyness. Maybe a bit too weird, but still quite good.

At Ghent Beer Festival. Pours clear light brown with a minimal head. The aroma contains oak, peated whisky, spices, and smoke (like smoky sausage). It tastes light sweet and light bitter with peppery touches. Soft carbonation and full body. Alcoholic with a chemical tone to it. Something’s off here - could have been better.
