The energy and audacity of the fixed gear courier inspired us to create Fixed Gear™, a big, bold American Red IPA. It pours a glaring crimson tone with a rocky white head and a brilliant floral-citrus aroma, thanks to an aggressive Centennial, Cascade, and Chinook dry hopping. Gratuitous amounts of dark caramel malts lend Fixed Gear™ its immodest, malty spine, while Chinook and Cascade hops impart its balanced citrus bite. This one’s got an attitude!

Bottle split at GBBF ’15, day 3, 13/08/15. Clear golden amber topped with a decent beige covering. Nose is malt forward, biscuit, caramel, fruit essence, mince pie. Taste comprises sweet malt, light spice, bitter orange, clove, bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an earthy hop scrub. Decent enough amber.

Very hazy red - amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light and airy. A fine minerally crispness. Malts bring a light cream with a nice undertone of caramel - toffee. Piney hops waft over the top and there is a light touch of marmalade sticking it all together. Gets fairly malt creamy before a light finish. Nice beer.

Bottle from GBBF 2015 and drunk at home. Clear red russet, copper colour lasting beige head. Red ipa aroma, some sweetness some red fruits, some grapefruit. I thought a decent red ipa. Good mouthfeel, some bitterness. Some grapefruit on the finish. I thought decent. Even pretty likeable.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured an orange-brown color with a medium sized fluffy beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy, fruity and had notes of pine and grapefruit. The flavor was bitter and tangy with pine, grapefruit, bread and hints of caramel and pepper. Medium length finish. Medium body. Well done.
