bruin met rode gloed, en lichte kraag. aroma van hout, donker fruit, eikenhout, zure bessen, rood fruit, wijn. smaken ... damn dat is initieel vrij zuur... vlakt wel wat af gelukkig... pleisters, hout, wijn, azijn, zoetig, melkzuur, yoghurt, roder kersen, matige body, redelijk zoet. nah --- Beer merged from original tick of Fils À Papa 6 (1/2017) on 25 May 2018 at 10:46 - Score: 6

Hmmmm... te veel azijnsteek... mocht ook langer op vat gelegen hebben, maar het ging dan waarschijnlijker nog erger geworden zijn. jammer...

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours a hazed reddish brown, small off-white head. Aroma is complex, sweet, vinous, lactic, woody. Taste is similarly complex, sharp, with crisp sour definition, layered berry fruits, vinous oak with a nice acidic character. Seems from ratings below there could be some bad bottles of this, but mine was excellent.

Bottle at home. Hazy deep reddish brown. Sour balsamico, light lactic notes, soft glue, lots of red berries and sweet overripe cherries, sweet malts, light grass, bread. Medium sour, under medium sweet and light bitter. Over medium bodied with fine but present carbonation. A bit gluey and hot but quite nice otherwise. It does open up a bit after some time in the glass which does away with the acetone notes.

Flaska från belgiuminabo. En väl acetisk flamländsk rödöl. Tappar lite balans med den vassa syrligheten även om det fina rejäl frutkig sötma också. Blir väl lik bärig balsamvinäger. Annars trevlig med syrliga körsbär och plommon. Ok

Bouteille 33cl, batch# 2017/01. No BB. Ambre voire acajou, col fin crémeux blanc-cassé. Arôme au nez fin malté avec un nez clairement centré sur une petite aigreur et un bouquet penchant vers un rappel chimique. Cependant, cette composante reste plutôt discrète. Retrouve une trace de fruits rouges voire de griotte. Palais est suret avec une pointe de cerises et petite touche boisée. Qcq épices ponctuent la dégustation et apporte un relent plus centré sur une vieille brune. Le vinaigré reste plaisant mais arrive à sa limite pour ne pas virer dans le Hansens. Fini râpeux, grinçant aux dents.

Thank you for sharing tderock + kraddel! Sampled @ Bruges Beer Festival 2017. Dark brown going to red amber, creamy tanned head. Nose is glue & acetone Oud Bruin, vinegar & nail polish, varnish, vinegar red fruits. Taste is glue, vinegar, acetone, varnish, glue, paint thinner, acidic. Body is bit watery, glue, acidic. Every Oud Bruin "Fils à Papa" is harsher than the previous one it seems, next one should be straight up paint thinner mixed with glue. This one is overkill already in that department, if I am not mistaken they used cinnamon here which I don’t taste at all. Still this tastes like something that USA sour heads might adore.
