500ml bottle. Clear (?), darkest brown colour with ruby shimmer and average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Weak, dark and minimally caramel malty aroma, a touch of dark chocolate and malt lozenge, dark caramel and toffee. Taste is slightly roasty, dark malty and caramel malty with low residual sweetness, hints of malt lozenge, dark caramel, a touch of toffee and dark chocolate. Minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, soft carbonation. Very cautious, simple and monotonous - guess I never had a beer at this abv with lower intensity of flavours.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Brownish amber colour, small white head. Aroma is toffee, some chocolate, caramel, berries and some roasted tones. Flavour is chocolate, caramel, dried fruits and mild toffee tones.

--Bottled, from Landbierparadies, Nuremberg. -- Clear mahogany colour, small head. Aroma of malt syrup and raisin. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Syrupy malt, dark fruit. Mildly warming finish.

50cl Flasche. Eine klare dunkel rötlichbraune Farbe, stabile beige Schaumkrone. Aroma: dezent süßliches dunkles Malz, Karamell. Geschmack: süß karamellmalzig, dunkles Malz, Melasse, dunkle Früchte.

Bottle picked up from Hier-Gibt's-Bier webshop, Eckersdorf, Franconia, consumed at home Sunday 21st March 2021, listening to Lost Horizons - In Quiet Moments. Pours dark brown with an off white head atop. Really soft moutheel, a little chocolate, nice maltiness, a slight bitterness. I'm eating Wasabi Pumpkin seeds so I will halt my rating briefly as this is likely to completely zap my taste for a while. Smooth almost creamy moutheel, drinks far easier than 7.4%, good Doppelbock.

ABV: 7.4%. Clear dark brown colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dark malt, toasted - roasted, brown sugar, malty. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, dusty malt, roasted - toasted, dark malt, caramel, bread, brown sugar, bitter chocolate, light chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20201108]

Bottle from Hier gibts Bier and drunk at home. Clear dark brown colour lasting tan head. Decent doppelbock. A little bit of dark syrup. Dark malts dark toffee. A bit sweet. Ok.

Schwarzenberger Doppelbock, Flasche von Keil, BT. - Tiefdunkles Kastanienbraun, klar. - In der Nase tiefes dunkles Malz, süßes Vollkornbrot, Rosinen, dezenter Hopfen. - Antrunk satt dunkelmalzig mit Röstmalz, Lakritz, Schokolade und fetter Rosinensüße. Die milde krautige Hopfenherbe bleibt im Hintergrund, eine spritzig fruchtige Note lockert die schwere Malzigkeit vorübergehend auf. Milder rezent, vollmundig; wärmender Alkohol. Auch im Abgang vorwiegend malzbetont, süß und nur blaß gehopft. - Solider dunkler Doppelbock, der deutlich kerniger gehopft sein müßte, um mich zu überzeugen. (7.12.2019.)
Dieses dunkle Starkbier heißt jetzt Wunsiedler Doppelbock, aber sonst hat sich nichts geändert: noch immer malzbetont und schön süß aber entschieden zu mild gehopft, besonders für einen Franken. (12.4.2023.)
