Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is malt, caramel, ripe citrus, orange, candied fruits, dried stone fruits, fruity hops, touch of pine, mild syrupy. Flavour is sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Good balance between fruity hops, dried stone fruits and sweet malty caramel. Bit syrupy, orange, candied. Very nice.

Bottle. Amber color. Malt, toffee and butter in the aroma and flavor. Sweet, still a bit of earthy hop character. Soft yeasty finish. Decent.

Mostly very sweet. Caramel. Might have been some bitterness hidden below it, definitely good hit of alcohol present. Smooth, dangerously drinkable. Candy bum fuel.

20 July 2018. At 't Brugs Beertje. Cheers to Maarten!
Pours clear dark amber with a big, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. Intense aroma of raisin, vanilla, candied orange, Grand Marnier, burnt caramel, red apple, cake, syrup, herbs. It tastes medium to heavy malty sweet, with hints of caramel, dough & candied fruit, 'polished' by a raisin-like sour accent; then light herbal bitter, a bit grassy, with a hint of 'vanilla wood'. Dryish, 'spicy licorice' finish, somewhat herbal hoppy, lingering wood and warming fruit liqueur alcohol. Full body, thin syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Good, tasty, but not excelling in the style.

13th May 2018, 33cl bottle (#2) in 't Brugs Beertje. Sweet and lovely. Orange/amber body, off-white topping. Light fruity taste through the maltiness; boozy and very easy to drink.

Het Nest Four Aces #2 Barley wine 9% Orange opaque color with a thin beige head that leaves a ring around the glass. Big boozy orange and malty aroma. It is medium to full bodied and the taste is sugary crystallized caramel, fruit and candies oranges. There’s a pleasant heat in the pit of my stomach too. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
