Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, thanks to our host with the most, 24/10/14. Lightly hazed golden with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is musty, dank notes, bitter lemon, straw, tarte white grape, woody tones. Taste falls away from a more promsing nose, citric peel, musty wood, apple core, tangy fruits. Medium bodied, flat with limited carbonation, tangy fruit licks in the close. SImple sour, not unpleasant but carries little depth.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Bruce. Pours clear gold with a bubbly white head. Nice aroma, some melon, grass, lemon rind. Light to medium sweet with some metallic notes, a bit of tangy citrus, orange rind, white grape. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Bitter rind finish, light alcohol, some further metal, lemon, light citric bite, hay. So so.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. It pours lightly hazy golden with no head. It pours earthy, barnyard, honeysuckle, stone fruit, tangerine, sherbet and light candy sweetness. The taste is earthy, woody, musty, mouldy bread, cereal, hay and dirt with a earthy finish. Medium body and pretty much no carbonation. Nose is rather lovely, but the taste is disappointly flat, must and sort of bland. Interesting, but it hasn’t won me over.

Bottle at Avenue Pub. Pours a cloudy orange gold with small white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is rubber funk and tart. Thin mouthfeel with light funk and sour fruits. Good.

On tap at Moeder Lambic. Hazy dark orange colour with a nice formation of an off-white head. Tarty aroma, caramel, sour, peach and yeast. Flavour is moderate sweet but also with acidic hints. The final is sourish and dry. Carbonation is soft. Body is medium. Texture is moderate oily.

Bottled, from El Estribo, Madrid. Hazy golden, no head. Funky brett aroma. Mid dry with light-medium body. No acidity, but really funky with sweaty dill and cooked seafood. Spritzy, complex and rustic, yet with elegance. Light salty finish. Really interesting stuff.

Medium off-white, fast gone head over faintly hazy orange-foxy beer with a golden shine. Vinous, C-hops in the nose, with old wine casks and Brettanomyces. Lambic-like with a vinous, sherry-like quality from a good flor. Extra-dry finish, refreshing all the same. Dry-out effect. I want more of this! Amazing that the lambic doesn’t overwhelm the pale ale completely. MANY thanks to Jean Hummler for this bottle!
