A hazed golden amber ale with a thin big bubbled off white head. In aroma, beautiful mix of ground cherries, lactic acid, Epsom salts, light Brett, very nice and complex. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with light corky notes, light chalky notes, cherries, a bit light and thin, OK. Bottle at Bières et Saveurs 2015.

Bottle shared by Marcus.Pours light orange gold with a slight white head. Aroma is mildly sour with a touch of spicy/pungent herb. Med body or so. Tastes like a woody cider. Nice, but not strongly flavored.

Sampled from bottle @ Leuven Innovation Beer Festival. Hazy yellow orange color, small white head. Smell and taste sourish, a hint of hops in the distance, sort of hops mixed with brett and geuze. Suitable body and soft carbonation. Yeah I like it.

New rate - Quintessence 2016. Bottle sample @ Leuven Beer Innovation 2015, shared with the RB Belgian crew. 6-2-6-2-13 5/25/15

Thanks for sharing! Sampled 750 ml. bottle @ Leuven Innovation Beer Festival. Apparently contains 20 % Cantillon lambiek. Dark red amber, only little bubbles. Nose is sweet thick lightly bitter caramel, malts with indeed quite a bit of barnyard funk,… Taste is very odd, very herbal bitter & sweet, plastic, bitter herbal, metallic plus funk in the back, barnyard funk in the back that doesn’t mix & is buried,… Lightering aftertaste, flat,… Nope, doesn’t work fro me, the weird herbal nature etc.

24/V/15 - sample @ LIBF (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2015-711) Thanks to the Belgian (and Dutch, and...) RB crew for sharing today's beers!

Clear orange beer, small to no head. Aroma: funky, brett notes, just like an Orval, this is not bad! MF: no carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty bitter, watery, slightly hoppy, bit sourish. Aftertaste: hoppy touch, watery, a bit lemony. Way too light in flavour and in body. Too bad, cause this is a good start to make an Orval clone!
