DESCRIPTION

Barnstormer is our collab brew with the up and coming brewery – Duration. Our first saison, was brewed with three types of yeast and cherry wood in the boil. Kettle soured for a tart finish. Barnstormer is super estery, with a dry tart finish.

Goes well with wild ways and country living.

Featuring Duration’s founder Bates as the man on the can. Duration are setting up shop in a beautiful site in Norfolk. Check our their story here.

Can from Freshfields Market. It pours orange - copper with a small white head. The aroma is fragrant, wood, spice, cereal, melon, tangy apple, pear, candy and hay. The taste is dry, tangy, touch of tartness, melon, apple, pear drops, a bit sweet, earth, wood, cereal, straw and some spice. Finish is quite drying. Medium body and fine carbonation. Was hoping for a bit more tartness to it. Not bad.

Keg at the CP&K, 15/01/18. Lightly hazed golden orange with a decent off white covering that dissipates edgeward. Nose is grassy, light tropical fruit tang, white peppery spice, stale pastries, herbal tones. Taste comprises lemon rind, bubblegum, straw, light spice, vanilla, hint of brioche, apricot jam, mellow yeast. Medium bodied, fine to spritzy carbonation, drying close. Decent enough saison.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Mostly clear orange-gold with a fizzy, white head that settles down quickly. Lots of citric, lemony notes in the aroma, some hay, melon, grapefruit. Light sweet flavour with moderate lemony tartness, biscuits, light acidity, a little dough, tangerine meringue. Light bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Fairly clean in the finish, somewhat sweet, with more doughy wheat bread, biscuits, subtly bitter hay, more tangy citrus fruits. Maybe just a touch flabby, although quite drinkable overall.
