750mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is decadent, with loads of complex bourbon barrels upfront, with vanilla and medium roast. Flavour is loaded with bourbon barrels, with light roast and a touch of vanilla. Lovely barrel character. Excellent.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of sweet dark caramel, soft bourbon, raisins and roasted malts. Flavors of same plus cola and grainy doughy malts. Very good.

750 ml bottle into snifter, 2015 vintage bottling. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, marshmallow, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of raisin, prune, fig, licorice, soy sauce, leather, tobacco, pepper, smoke, and roast/toast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and bourbon barrel notes; with solid strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, marshmallow, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of raisin, prune, fig, licorice, soy sauce, leather, tobacco, pepper, smoke, and roast/toast/oak earthiness. Mild roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spice on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, marshmallow, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, dark/brown bread, light dark fruit/licorice, leather, tobacco, and roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and bourbon barrel flavors; with an amazing roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Slight dryness from roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and huge full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is insane. Slight slickness, chalky roast, and oak tannins. Alcohol is perfectly hidden; very mild lingering warmth, with no barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged Russian imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and bourbon barrel flavors; insanely smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Extremely rich and well rounded malt/barrel complexities, along with amazing balance between the two. This is the smoothest 17.5% stout I have ever had. Doesn't come off overly drying/boozy from the barrels like some others. Never overly slick/syrupy on body. A highly amazing offering.

Oxford tastings
Dark brown color, near black. Strong boozy aroma, some chocolate. Very sweet, so it's not that boozy; deep malt flavor, some chocolate, tobacco, lingering fruitiness, sweet nuts.
Excellent.

Dark brown. No head. Massive boozy nose, some sort of soy sauce and milk chocolate on the nose. On the palate, has a nice sweet character that blends figs, milk chocolate, and a big bourbon note, vanilla and all. Finishes with a big alcohol blast, but still date-like sweetness. So it's a mess, but ultimately I'd say a happy mess.

750ml bottle at Alex's. Pours an almost black with a beige head. Aroma is fruity, bourbon, boozy notes. Taste is very fruity, bourbon, lots of booziness. It is good, but it is too boozy for me.

Bottle - Insane big bourbon notes. Jet black brown with a small beige head. A bit of bourbon sweetness, molasses, and barrel heat.
