Dark Malt and American hops unite to bring a new age of bitterness. Pithy grapefruit and resin combine with a dark chocolate and roasty coffee hit to deliver a resonating bitterness that goes beyond IBUs.

Keine leicht trinkbares Bier. Nunja!

Can at home. Expired a short time ago but still tastes as when fresh, hop aromas has not been lost. Pours black with a lot of initial head, dissipates very quickly though leaving almost no foam. Aroma is more on the malts’ side, a lot of roastiness coming through. Quite a bit coffee, some chocolate and licorice, pine and a herbal earthiness from the hops, not a lot of fruit. Light to medium body. Flavour: fruity at first, followed by bitterness and pine, finishes roasty and warming. Definitely some grapefruit, chocolate, some coffee. Nice balance of maltiness and hoppiness, also not too intensely piney. Finish is a very nice mix of dark malts and the herbal earthiness from the hops (I’m just guessing Mosaic here) and a lot of bitterness. Excellent!

15-07-17 // can. Obviously a black coloured beer with a solid white head. Nose of roasted malts and some fruity hops. Aroma starts with roasted malts, medium sweet, some coffee, followed by some grapefruit and pine flavours and finishing with a dry bitter finish.

330 ml can. Pours with a deep, black color and a nice tan head. First impression of fat, roasted malts. Followed by fruity aromas with a nice grapefruit-peel and hoppy note. Taste is quiet good: lots of roated malts, citrus and a nice touch which reminds me of barrel-aging. Long lasting finish with coffee and dried fruits. Good balanced.

2016 catch up - Can at home - It was a good black IPA, but I have had better. Dare I say that there was a slight wateriness to it for me?. The hops and the malt were both present, but not one that I will seek out again.
