Bottle only claims 11% ABV No head, jet-black beer pouring as motor oil. Alcohol a mile out, even almost paintthinner, solvent; roast. Roast, nuts, roasted hazelnuts, meatroast, dry alcohol, alcohol from the wood. Rum dominates the character. Very dry, viscous, dense. Alcoholheat, fiery. Long lasting flavours. Punch-in-the-face. But not that bad... Puchased @ Getränkefeinkost Leipzig

330ml bottle [#0463/1700]. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. BA supported, roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of leather, dark chocolate, dark caramel, treacle, molasses, a touch of butterscotch, brioche. Taste is roasty, dark malty, slightly caramel malty, notes of dark chocolate, dark caramel, some leather, BA support with hints of rum, carrying dark caramel, molasses, leather, treacle; a minimally warming, bitter pungent, alcoholic touch in the finish has an accumulating effect, nevertheless well hidden alcohol overall. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Needs a little time of warm up for the full development of the whole spectrum of flavours (naturally so); shifts from roasty to caramel malty along the way. Very harmonious and intertwined affair between beer and rum flavours. Rich, complex, one of the rare German Impy Stouts able to play along on the level of international quality standards.

Power tasting at Phill's, bottle
Black colour, medium brown head. Dark malts, dark sugar, strong level of roasted malts, with a bit of the natural acidity, light phenols in the nose, some tar; strong alcohol perception; nice, strong spirit in the finish, with a light biscuity touch. Very good.

330ml at Phill's. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: tons of rum barrel, salty, some fruitiness and roasted malt. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: too much of rum barrel.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is boozy, full of rum barrels, some roast, and a little vanilla. Flavour is loaded with rum barrels, lots of alcohol, and roast. It's on the harsh side, with intense boozy rum. Not all that elegant or complex, but it's tasty.

Really nicely well balanced big big stout. Great barrel rum taste. Boozy yet drinkable, not super heavy. Very well done. Graeff Hamburg

0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeer-shop.com', best before October 2021. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, brown head. Sweetish-malty, moderately fruity and slightly roasty aroma of dark chocolate, rum, coconut, some coffee and a touch of green apples. Quite sweet, malty, rather roasty-bitter and slightly fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, rum and coconut, followed by a long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly boozy and quite fruity finish. Full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Really tasty stuff, lovely rum flavours upon a heavy and viscous base beer. Maybe not the most refined of Kehrwieder's BA Imperial Stouts but a treat nevertheless.
