33cl bottle shared by Rune&Finn at Café Sånn, Tromsø. Pours hazy orange with a large, white head. Surprisingly citrusy aroma with wheaty notes, mild spices, wheat and fruits. Medium sweet with nice fruity and citrusy flavours. Rather delicious wit!

330 ml. bottle. BBF 21/12/17. Witbier with raw licorice. Lightly hazy touch darker golden with a creamy lightly off-white head. Too bad that this isn’t black esp. given the name, I have never had a black witbier, not even sure if that is a thing or possible? Nose is fizzy lightly artificial lemon, faintly sour wheat, refreshing light herbs, faint lemongrass. Taste is very interesting, faintly sour wheat, big odd woody sweetness that is that to pinpoint, roots, tar, candy, licorice I suppose but it is different than expected, roots, herbs, sweetish, sticky, syrupy with some lightly sour wheat, lemon, orange, some vanilla, very big interesting bark sweetness which is the licorice I suppose, some spice, licorice lingering in the finish. Hard to pinpoint, interesting, thick wheat body mixed with syrup. Traditionally not a licorice fan or even much of a witbier fan but this is a very interesting and unique take on the style. It is a bit challenging, overly bark candy heavy which is an odd quality for the style but it is an admirable and interesting beer. This only further reinforces my love of To Øl. Quite a fascinating an interesting take on the style.

Bottle shared at a tasting. Hazy deep golden colour. There is only barely noticeable licorice, if some at all. Otherwise it seems like an overall neutral beer. Not nearly as aromatic as witbiers use to be. Not bad though. High carbonation and easy drinkable.
